Terms of Service

Last updated: August 24, 2026

1. Acceptance

By creating an account or otherwise using Nexus8 (nexus8.8bitsecurity.com), you agree to these Terms. Nexus8 is an independent project run by an individual under the name 8Bit Security, based in Italy — not a registered company. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

2. The service

Nexus8 is a threat intelligence graph correlating public CVE, news, ransomware, and threat-actor data. The core graph and correlation — search, entity pages, Signal, Radar, Watchlist alerts (within free limits) — is free, and stays free; it is not put behind a paywall. A Premium subscription (currently 4.99€/month, billed by Stripe) unlocks convenience features: higher API rate limits, unlimited watchlist rules and extra alert channels, bulk export, and full Intelligence Reports.

3. Your account

You're responsible for keeping your credentials and API keys confidential, and for any activity under your account. Tell us right away if you suspect unauthorized access. You must provide a real, working email address — we use it for account recovery, security notices, and any email you've opted into (weekly digest, watchlist alerts).

4. Subscriptions, billing, and cancellation

Premium subscriptions are billed monthly in advance through Stripe, which acts as merchant of record: Stripe calculates and collects any applicable sales tax/VAT, handles payment disputes, and processes refunds on our behalf where applicable. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time from your account page or directly through Stripe/Link. Cancelling stops future renewals; we don't automatically prorate or refund the current billing period unless required by law or granted at our discretion.

Right of withdrawal (EU consumers). If you're a consumer in the EU, you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a distance purchase without giving a reason. Because Premium access starts immediately on payment, by subscribing you expressly request immediate access and acknowledge that you lose the right of withdrawal once the subscription has started. You can still cancel at any time going forward as described above — this only affects a refund for the period already used.

5. Acceptable use

Please don't: try to circumvent rate limits or access controls; scrape or bulk-extract data at a scale inconsistent with normal use of your tier; resell or redistribute Nexus8 data as a competing intelligence product; use the service to facilitate attacks, harassment, or other illegal activity; or attempt to disrupt or reverse-engineer the service beyond what's needed for your own integration via the documented API.

6. Data accuracy — read this carefully

Nexus8 aggregates and correlates data from public sources (NVD, CISA KEV, vendor advisories, news outlets, MITRE ATT&CK, and others) using a mix of authoritative feeds and automated extraction. We work hard to keep it accurate and to flag confidence/provenance where it matters, but Nexus8 is provided for informational purposes and does not replace independent verification before you make a security-critical decision (patching, incident response, disclosure, or similar). Automated correlation can occasionally be wrong or incomplete.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

The service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or uninterrupted availability.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of (or inability to use) Nexus8, including decisions made based on data it surfaces. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

9. Termination

You can stop using Nexus8 and close your account at any time (email us to request deletion — see our Privacy Policy). We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with notice where reasonably possible.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms as the product evolves; we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, do our best to notify active users.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by Italian law. If you're an EU consumer, this doesn't deprive you of any mandatory consumer protection under the law of your own country of residence.
